Encouragement of Joshua
Coach Mitchell’s Breakdown:
The Book of Joshua was written to convey the significance of obedience and the rewards that such obedience can yield. Readers are encouraged to understand that while God may assign us various challenges, He also provides us with guidance to achieve victory in each battle we face. Throughout the narrative, God repeatedly instructs Joshua to be strong and courageous, assuring him of His presence at every step of the journey.
Chapter 1 delves into the appointment of Joshua following the death of Moses, the servant of God. Joshua was designated to lead the Israelites across the Jordan River to the land promised to them prior to Moses's passing. In this chapter, readers gain insight into the extensive territory that God vows to grant the Israelites who choose to accompany Joshua and adhere to His directives. Furthermore, God instructs Joshua, and by extension all those following him, to be strong and courageous, consistently assuring them that any opposition will ultimately be unsuccessful.
Chapter 1:9 | This verse distinguishes itself from others in God's message to Joshua and his followers by beginning with the imperative, “Have I not commanded you?” Joshua 1:9 functions as a resolute reminder that God has already instructed us to be strong and courageous, urging us to dismiss any feelings of self-doubt and, most importantly, to maintain unwavering faith in Him.

Prayer Challenge:
When discovering your purpose and aligning with your divine assignment on this Earth.:
"Dear God, thank you for your grace, mercy and purposeful plan for my life. Allow me to understand that moments where I forget this commandment of being strong and courageous is a moment where I am attempting to take control and I need to actually surrender to your instructions and your will. God help me truly understand and believe that so long as you are on by side, no task will be too tall for me to accomplish. God I have so much gratitude and confidence knowing that you will never leave me nor forsake me and for that reason alone I will be fully committed to being strong and courageous as you have instructed me to do.” With Love, your child.
